just to recap for posterity...i can't believe we are all mothers! i mean, of course i can, but it is so amazing what a change all of us new parents have gone through this past year. it is humbling and humiliating at times. but at the same time, it is joyful and so completely fills your heart. kind of like becoming christian. before i accepted Christ as my savior, i didn't realize what i was missing,. once i found Christ, it was like my heart was full where it had been empty. with kids, i didn't realize what i was missing out on, until we had Thomas. now i think, wow how stupid was i to think i didn't need children to complete my life. i can not believe we waited so long. we were idiots!
anyways, it was really nice because i received a card, half "from thomas" and half from william. thomas gave me my first mother's day card! :) it was very cute and i kept it in my purse for a week so i could read it whenever i wanted. william said it was supposed to come with a little flower picked from outside, but "thomas didn't quite get to the backyard before i woke up that morning."
then i found out that william's sister, Jenny had been getting on his case on my behalf (thanks jenny!). but to give the william credit, he spent almost three months serving me meals in bed when i was on bedrest so he's off the hook for all future mother's days and birthdays. ha ha...

And they are growing up so fast! Just think, one day we will be pushing them out of the nest to eventually build nests of their own!
Sorry, I really wanted to use the bird analogy for Thomas.
Hey Thomas! KAAAAAA!!!!!!
Just think of all the new memories we will be building together with our new little families! Sure the old memories were great (Death Valley trips, Yosemite, spas...). But now there will be camping from our kid's perspectives, more road trips, and Disneyland (or we could all try for one week of Disney World when the kids are older!). =)
You're not the only ones who wish they had kids earlier. If Vijay and I had a fling when we met, Sara would be 14 now! :D
Amen! I think I pushed enough. I am glad you think as you described. Especially the analogy to becoming a Christian is a good one! I can repeat Halleluyah! 100 times. This is a hyperbole.
Dad
Wow Catherine, you're making me think that having kids isn't so bad!
wow you know what would make your life more perfect? another baby!!!! hehe
Yes...I did. I'm quite smitten by my son's cuteness so I post these pictures so I can look at them from work.... :)
William - you need to keep a microphone ready so you can get some of those bird-of-prey calls recorded! He won't be doing that forever (unless he really is birdman).
I keep meaning to do that for Sara...
Catherine--You said it so well!! I wish we'd had Maxwell a lot earlier too, because there are some days where I feel like I'm getting too old for this!
Thomas is such a cutie--I just love happy babies!!
Along with the rest, I concur that the picture you posted is totally adorable!
