another first.... small milestones for baby

last week, we painted the TV room - gray cashmere - sort of a light green/gray color. it is hard to get a good picture of it b/c it's a light color. i really wanted to use this great cement gray color they just put out for 2006, but william really disliked the idea of gray walls so i used the green/gray. it turned out really well so today we started painting the kitchen. it is called "light khaki" and looks like khaki during the day but at night, it turns a very strong green... split pea soup. that was not expected but oh well, that is why i am not a professional designer.

unfortunately william has been doing all the work... i just watch thomas. the hardest i have worked is to dab at the little white pits the roller missed. enjoyable actually. william has been doing the grunt work. thomas was really amazing though - this morning after eating a pretty good sized breakfast, thomas played by himself on the floor for 45 minutes! 45 minutes.... i kept looking over, expecting him to look over at me and grunt, letting me know he was ready to do something different. but each time, he would just look over at me, smile and look back at whatever he was playing with. it was so nice to be able to get some stuff done, but it was a little sad too. i kept waiting for him to lift his arms out to me, but it just wasn't happening. it was like "uh uh... don't come over, i am fine here playing by myself for now. got too many interesting things to look at." getting bigger every day...

----------------------------------------
he just started "waving" yesterday too. he even noticed the shadow of his waving hand when he was in his walker last night. he was standing there, leaning over, waving and when i peered over to see what he was looking at... it was his shadow :)

Thomas is growing up! Ethan is at the stage Thomas was before... he'll reach out with his arms and fake cry/scream to be picked up. He can be left alone for a little while, but when he gets eye contact with you, he'll let you know he wants to be picked up. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE ALMOST A YEAR OLD!!!!!

Enjoy your time alone, They will get separation anxiety and it peaks at 18 months. Seriously I'll be lucky if Luki can play alone for more than 10 min nowadays.

Amazing what some paint can do to a room! Looks nice. :)

Yes, the babies are growing up super fast. They seem smarter each day.
