and i am supposed to change his diapers...

this is getting a little ridiculous. i need to install a restraint system of some kind. maybe velcro straps across his chest and hips...

he even uses the towel bar for leverage! several times now, when i try to flip him back, he swings his leg wildly all around until his foot finds the towel bar and hooks on for dear life. he grabs hold of the side of the changing table and presto magico flipping baby... look at that crafty face, so proud of himself.

key to changing diapers, give him a NEW toy for him to examine. We ran out of toys and just started to hand him anything insight like lotion bottles, plastic bags, plastic boxes etc etc.

it is the POOP that is the problem!! pee diapers are really fast to change, but the POOO... man... :)

Ethan is starting to squirm too when I change him. (although, from the pictures, it don't look as bad as Thomas)

I followed dragongem's strategy - we have a thing that lights up and plays music, and I turn that on and then change Ethan real quick. That usually seems to work.

The best method I've found so far is to get Liz to hold his legs while I change him!

ha hah hahahaha! Sara's ALL over the place during her diaper changes! She does about 3-4 turns, kicks, screams... oh it's so lovely. :P I've learned to put on her diaper with her butt facing up because she's such a squirmer now. Though this accomplishment came with some wet sheets and an occasional foot kick into her poopy diaper. :P

Changing diapers has become quite a challenge! Lately as soon as I take off his diaper, he pees. I think this is because John's parents let Ethan go commando when they take care of him (to prevent diaper rash). So when I change him, I open the diaper, wipe, he pees, wipe again, all the while holding his legs together to prevent movement. I practically hold his feet in the air so all he has is his shoulders and arms to grab and squirm. Oh well.

Me & J try to tag team the Poo. He'll yell "code Poo code POO, emergency we have a code POO." and off we go to the changing table. 1 prepares diapers & wipes, 2 changes & switches the diaper. While 2 finishes up w/ the lotion, 1 wraps the diaper in double plastic before trashing it. So that does cut down the time.

I usually give Sara her syringe bulb to play with. That has worked for me the last few weeks. I blast some air into her hair, then pretend I'm about to suction her nose... she doesn't like that, so she tries to take the syringe bulb away from me. Once she gets it, she's distracted for a minute or so. Enough time for a diaper change.

Poo diapers are a bit easier now that we're getting solid nuggets. The juicy explosions required more wiping and more care.
